Verified Reviewer |Beware of unsafe photo policy
Beware of unsafe photo policy Primrose has a photography policy that states they can photograph your child and use that photo for social media, which we are not ok with. I noticed that many children are on the Primrose Reynoldsburg Facebook page and sometimes, the child's name is even mentioned in the comments or on the pictures they are holding.
We chose to opt out of this policy, but the contention came when we were told that we would not receive picture updates via Tadpoles, which is how they send updates and reports. These reports only come to my personal email address. I explained to the director and owner that at our previous childcare center in Florida they had a center-only photo provision, that allowed children to be photographed but pictures would not be shared on social media and parents were not permitted to take a picture with their phone or anything else of posted pictures that contained other children. I asked the director and owner to be flexible with me, as I liked the pictures that I received during the day because it put me at ease knowing he was having a good day.
What was most disappointing is that the owner was not flexible despite their photo policy not including Tadpoles, and not understanding my comfort level about them posting pictures of our son on their public Facebook page, that may contain identifying information, which is extremely unsafe. The owner said that any picture that was posted that I did not like, he would remove from Facebook, but I asked why post it in the first place??? Of course he did not have an answer for that question. Additionally the Primrose photo policy states that they could post pictures at their discretion and parents would not have any say as to what was posted or if could be removed, yet he contradicts that policy by saying that would remove any picture that I did not like.
He said he would also remove any comments that were inappropriate but I would need to make him aware of those comments. I asked if it's your Facebook page, isn't that you're job????
The owner made it clear to me that he does not value our family because at the end of our conversation that he suggested we should find childcare elsewhere to better meet our needs. We completely agreed on that point and I told him that I will find a childcare center that values families and their children and their needs over policies that do not adequately protect them.
Unsafe Environment & Over Ratio
This school is horrifying. They are often over the teacher:student ratio, they shift kids to other classrooms without notifying parents, do not provide incident reports when classmates abuse other classmates.
Teachers are very overwhelmed and are also abused by violent classmates. It is very disturbing and this environment has affected my child in a negative way. Owner and Director are extremely rude and do not have the children's safety in mind. Computers are broken and owner is not following corporate's direction and lesson plans.
Teachers are constantly leaving so the classroom is very unstable. There were some really great teachers, but they have left because they were treated poorly.
This school defies all core values. I felt like a horrible parent dropping my kids off everyday.

SON KICKED OUT AFTER ASKING QUESTIONS
MILITARY FAMILIES STAY AWAY ESP IF YOU ARE A MINORITY!!!!!! I'm writing this so no other family will have to go through what we had to deal with at this daycare.
We enrolled our child here thinking this would be a great place for him. My 3 year old son was targeted and once I contacted the owner, Mrs. Rank regarding our concerns, things spiraled out of control. The next day after contacting Mrs.
Rank my son begin receiving numerous incident reports. We were even called by Tina the director to pick him up bc he allegedly bit a child. We received a total of 18 reports in a 2 week timeframe after talking to the director and owner regarding our concerns. My son had a unknown bruise on his chest that was not documented and his behavior begin to change once he got a new teacher.
We felt that something was terribly wrong especially when his new teachers constantly put his underwear on top of his pull up after we asked them repeatedly to stop. We spoke to Mrs. Rank an Mrs. Tina who were very disrespectful.
We contacted corporate and asked for help they contacted the daycare and Mrs. Rank(owner) call us and stated, "I highly suggest you remove your son from this daycare and you should have never contacted corporate." "She stated, " I pay myself and corporate can't do anything to me." A few hours later we received a email from Mrs Rank stating, "Management and herself decided it would be my son last day and we needed to pick him up immediately and his stuff would be at the front office with a check". We were treated with the UPMOST disrespect and despicable treatment. Mrs.
Rank and management went low and stated my demeanor was intimidating. Wow, typical stereotype of an African American woman.
Tina also berated a former employee in one of our last meetings regarding our son, she stated, "the employee was loud and aggressive{another stereotype of a African American woman}." I'm really upset because my husband and I are both military and our son was targeted and subjected to this immature behavior all because we had questions and was inquisitive. I sincerely pray for management because for a person to punish a INNOCENT child because of your personal feelings and bias regarding a parent is pathetic/ignorant
Poor quality franchise
Be Afraid. Be Very Afraid
Primrose is a terrible place to leave your children. Try Goddard, Field of Dreams any other school.
Primrose has allegations of molestation, they overbill, make strange choices about the kids - stir crazy. For God's sake, research people! Do your homework! Primrose Fort Mill & Ballentyn are the WORST!!
Look around for the of your children. I have been over billed five times and still I can't get the director to learn to count. Other parents have complained of misfeedings, severe diaper rashes that were caused because children were not changed on time.
One you are in the contract it is hard to get out of it. Choose correctly.

Primrose School - Customer Care Review
Kids KICKED OUT of school for MISCOMMUNICATION by owners
On Tuesday, my children were KICKED OUT of Primrose, UA. My husband was forced to bring them home with no notice or care about how we would manage to find care for the day.
We posted on a private community FB group about our very real frustration over a miscommunication that we were trying to work out. Someone from the group printed it, then showed it to the owners. They called us horrific and would not let our children remain at the school when we came to drop them off.
The miscommunication started when we wanted to add our older daughter to their explorers program. Our primary care taker for her could no longer watch her and our younger daughter liked Primrose so we were hoping to combine the programs. The Primrose owners said they were happy to help. Then, one month later they told us that there was a child still coming in January then offered to let our oldest come in the mornings only. This indicated that they knew our need was permanent and were trying to find a solution for us, but we did not want to pay full time for half time care.
When we expressed our frustration to the owners directly, they told us that the January child was always coming and that we should have known that. When confronted on this, the owner Deanna admitted that "why would we tell you that a child is coming in January?" I responded that this would have indicated that our spot was not permanent. She said that the school always thought that we only needed a spot temporarily. This is despite the fact that we routinely discussed possible plans with them after November. Never once did they correct us and we always had the impression that the spot was permanent. The owners added that the "broke the rules" to allow our daughter to come temporarily. It would have been better if they had just told us no from the getgo and then we would have figured something else out. This is why rules exist.
Deanna was very upset that we would say ANYTHING NEGATIVE about their school and called us horrific for posting on Facebook. Despite posting positive comments about them, and giving them a five star rating on FB earlier, a single negative comment was enough to get us kicked out of school. Here are a few other negative things that we have politely ignored:
-Earlier this year, I complained because the school did not notice my daughter had a 103 degree fever. When I called, they were put off and annoyed and did not care.
-When my first daughter started, it took them over two months to bill us. It took my very strong insistence for them to bill us at all.
-When my second daughter started, they only billed us after we were kicked out. Despite repeated requests to the front desk to bill us. The owners and management never talked to us about why or when they would charge us for our daughter.
-The teachers are fine but they are very ambivalent toward the parents. They are not engaged with you when you come to drop off or pick up.
The building is shiny and new, but the management is terrible. I would be very wary of attending this school. And if you are attending now, just know that they will kick you out at any moment if you make any negative comments.

Horrible Treatment of Teachers, Neglecting Children's Development and Health- Primrose School of Upper Arlington
As a parent, I would advice not to enroll your child in the Primrose school located in Upper Arlington of Columbus, OH. The management is careless and very unprofessional. The front staff is clueless, and everything is very unorganized and chaotic.
My child was forcefully transitioned into a higher level classroom when they were not mentally, emotionally, and even physically ready to be transitioned, in order to make space for new children that the school had just enrolled. It's all about the money here. I chose to enroll my child here, drawn by the Primrose School promise to nurture each child's development at a personal level. They have done the complete opposite.
There are high student-to-teacher ratios, contrasting with their claims of having low ratios within the classrooms. With so many young children and just two teachers assigned to each classroom, the teachers are forced to redirect their focus from teaching, to running after the children in order to prevent injuries and incidents from occurring. I feel awful for the teachers who work here. They look miserable and stressed, and I can tell that they are being mistreated by the management. I can't blame them for being overwhelmed, no one would keep their sanity being confined to a small room with 14 screaming toddlers for the entire day, 5x a week. With teachers calling off frequently with no explanation, there is a new teacher every time I walk into the classroom to drop off my child. The constant turnover of teachers has prevented my child from bonding with his teachers, and he has become disinterested in attending school.
I also noticed that the toys in my child's classroom looked very filthy, as if they hadn't been cleaned for awhile. When I brought up my concern to their teacher, they confessed that the toys are only spritzed with bleach every night. This school fails to prioritize their students' health and safety.
Long Grove Primrose
I started my position on 7/23/16.
From the beginning, the director and Owner mistreated me due to my twenty years experience in the field. I addressed my issues, but nothing was resolved.
Now, they are refusing to pay me for my last week of work.
The Director and owner are very unprofessional. The assistant director noticed this mistreatment along with other teachers.
I took this position to teach and we were setting up all the rooms, cleaning and never taught curriculum or given a work schedule.
To play games with someone's paycheck again is another power struggle.
I am extremely disappointed in what I thought would have been a professional environment

Primrose School Review from Brighton, Massachusetts
Terrible place to work . Owned by owners who have no background in the field , a director with no people skills , the turnover rate is shameful and no one cares.
Leadership takes no ownership and cares not at all for employees . Toxic. Stressful .
Such a disappointment . Too bad parents don't know
THE OWNER (Felicia) STOLE OUR MONEY WITHOUT NOTICED - RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
THE OWNER (Felicia) STOLE OUR MONEY WITHOUT NOTICED - RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
See below reviews , we left in August we gave a verbal noticed to the directors more then a month prior to that date and they assured that we are good to go.
The directors (both of them, together) were fired or quit (not sure) but since that the owner is claiming that we did not follow the 30 days written notice.
Felicia just over drew my bank account by $500, one week before Christmas. Because of her lack of open communication with her staff, my family gets penalized. Merry Christmas Hines family.
This is a pattern in this place and i feel bad for the lovely teachers, but this conduct is unacceptable and even qualified as FRAUD !

Picture this:24 kids in a classroom and the teachers, instead of being concerned with the kids WATCHING and PLAYING them, they instead are fixated with making sure they get a great picture of suzie having a wonderful day at PRIMROSE. It dosn't matter that the room and kids are out of control and killing each other....Just as long as those pics get sent!
THIS SHOULD NOT EVEN BE ALLOWED Hey,parents, how about staying home with your child when you can, take off a personal day and spend it with your child, if you are not working that day: KEEP YOUR CHILD AT HOME WITH YOU. Some of these kids are in day care 5 days a week, 10 hours a day. No matter how great the school is, your child would much rather be where what used to be heir natural environment: HOME. I worked at this center for 3 months and could not believe all the wasted time and energy that was centered on making sure the curriculum was completely done (which in of itself is NOT developmentally appropriate practice, and this stupid i pad (personally I wanted to throw it out the window) and sending pics to parents.
Little do you know, while one parent gets a picture, another parents child is being neglected.
This is all to make it look good for the parents: I understand its a great marketing tool, but children should not be treated as profit making. THINK ABOUT IT
Absolutely untrue! My daughter works there and they have an incredibly strict policy!
Never, ever have they been given permission to post photos to social media. In fact, they are not allowed to have their phones on inside the building.
You’re wrong!! I didn’t say that staff was posting pictures on their private Facebook accounts, but I guess you didn’t read that in my comment.
If you would peruse the Primrose Facebook page you will see children holding signs with their names, their teacher’s name and other identifying information. Their Facebook page is public, which is unsafe.
